Invisalign treats your teeth by helping them straightenIf you feel embarrassed by your crooked or unevenly spaced teeth, but don’t want to flash metal brackets at your next business meeting, you may benefit from Invisalign. These clear braces are a popular alternative to traditional braces because they are nearly invisible and produce great results without the need for metal brackets and wires. Invisalign often shows results faster than traditional braces, depending on the extent of the problem you are trying to correct.

Invisalign can comfortably and quickly straighten your teeth so that you can show the world your best smile. If you’re interested in talking with Drs. What Invisalign Treats

Invisalign can treat a range of problems, including:

Unevenly Spaced Teeth—Sometimes, teeth develop gaps and uneven spacing. Gaps between your front teeth often cause embarrassing whistling sounds when you speak.

Overcrowded Teeth— Dental crowding not only looks bad, but also causes plaque buildup between your teeth that leads to gum disease and tooth decay.

Crossbite— A misalignment of your jaw can cause your teeth to cross in front of or behind other teeth when you close your mouth. This problem can cause chipping and uneven wear, and increases the risk of gum disease and bone loss.

Underbite— An underbite occurs when overgrowth of your jaw causes your lower teeth protrude past your front teeth. Underbites cause uneven tooth wear, and can cause the painful condition TMJ to develop.

Overbite—Similar to an underbite, an overbite occurs when your upper teeth protrude further than your lower teeth. Overbites can cause uneven wear on your lower teeth, gum irritation that increases the risk of gum disease, and TMJ.

Alignment issues cause malocclusions (misalignment of your teeth when you close your mouth) that negatively impact your oral health and jaw joints. Invisalign will gently reposition your teeth to correct these problems and protect your oral and joint health.

Invisalign Process

Drs. Ken and Marnie Collins will begin your individualized treatment plan by assessing your malocclusion with state of the art technology. Using this data, they will create a treatment plan best suited to your needs.

Invisalign works by gently repositioning your teeth with a series of clear retainers. Each retainer applies enough pressure to encourage gradual progress from one retainer to the next. Every two or so weeks, Drs. Collins will check the progress of your teeth. When they see satisfying results, you will receive your next retainer.

For best results, it is recommended that you wear your retainer every day for 22-23 hours. You should begin to see results after just a few months, and treatment can last as little as 12 months.

Invisalign effectively corrects many common orthodontic problems, but won’t treat all of them. Other dental factors or conditions also affect whether or not you are a good candidate for this procedure. The Drs. Collins will gladly meet with you to discuss your goals and assess whether or not Invisalign is a good fit for you. Please contact them online or at their Spokane office – 509-368-7788.
