The Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the small connecting piece between the jaw and the head. TMJ dysfunction is a common condition that stems from a poorly formed bite. If the jaw is not aligned correctly, an unhealthy amount of stress is put on the surrounding muscles causing an array of potential problems.
TMJ often presents difficulty in diagnosis because of the variety of possible symptoms that can occur. One of the most common symptoms of TMJD suffers report is frequent migraines. Other potential indicators are jaw pain and clicking, back, neck or shoulder pain. These symptoms can be moderate to severe, making daily activities nearly impossible.

The neuromuscular approach allows us to create treatment plans for TMJ dysfunction through evaluation of your jaw posture and muscle function.
