Dental veneers can fix chipped teeth, misshapen teeth, grossly discolored teeth, teeth with gaps between them, and even slightly crooked teeth. And it can do it all at the same time. Just a couple visits separate you from your new, beautiful smile.

No, dental veneers must be bonded to some portion of a natural tooth. For a missing tooth, you’ll need to consider either a dental bridge or a dental implant.

A diastema is a gap between teeth, typically the front two teeth. Some very famous people have diastemas (think David Letterman and Michael Strahan). Diastemas can make a person look goofy and unintelligent. This worked fine for David Letterman, but you may feel differently about your own smile. Dental veneers can close the gap between two teeth by adding tooth surface to both sides of the gap and meeting in the middle. Sometimes we might recommend veneering four teeth to make sure your smile stays in proportion and you don’t just have central incisors that are too large.

Yes, dental veneers are permanent smile makeover solutions, however they may need to eventually be replaced depending on how well you take care of them. If you take care of them, dental veneers can last for decades!

Working with a neuromuscular dentist can extend the life of your veneers.

The cost of dental veneers will depend on how many teeth you want to treat. Plan on $1,000 to $2,000 per tooth. Dental insurance will usually cover very little, if any of the cost. At our Spokane Valley office, we have a variety of dental financing options available to make porcelain veneers affordable for almost anyone.

Dental veneers are made of thin pieces of porcelain, about the thickness of an egg shell. The dental veneers are made to fit the surface of your teeth after they have been prepared by your cosmetic dentist. The dental veneers are affixed to your teeth with a strong, light-cured dental adhesive. Once in place, your dental veneers are strong enough that you can eat any food that you would eat with your natural teeth. Just don’t open packages with your teeth or bite your nails (things you shouldn’t even do without dental veneers!).

After the initial consultation (schedule your initial consultation here), fitting a patient with dental veneers can be accomplished within as few as two visits to our Spokane Valley office.  During the first visit Drs. Ken & Marnie Collins will prepare the affected teeth to receive the dental veneers by gently removing a small amount of tooth structure to make room for a strong bond between your teeth and the back surface of the dental veneers.  Then they will take an impression of your prepped teeth. The dental lab will use this impression to hand-craft the dental veneers so they will be perfectly fitted to each tooth.

After the tooth preparation and impression process, Drs. Ken & Marnie Collins will apply temporary veneers to your teeth.  Many patients feel a sense of ‘Wow!’ just from looking at their smile with the temporaries!

About one to two weeks later, your permanent dental veneers will be ready, and you’ll come in for your second appointment. Drs. Ken & Marnie Collins will remove the temporary veneers and will try-in the new dental veneers for proper fit and color.  Assuming that everything is good, Drs. Ken & Marnie Collins will then bond the dental veneers to your teeth, and you will be the owner of a brand new smile!
